1 | | (4) the user is a person with a youth hunting license |
2 | | who is unable to pull the draw weight of a bow and arrow |
3 | | other than a crossbow. |
4 | | As used in this Section, "handicapped person" means a |
5 | | person who has a physical impairment due to injury or disease, |
6 | | congenital or acquired, which renders the person them so |
7 | | severely disabled as to be unable to use a longbow, recurve |
8 | | bow, or compound bow. Permits must be issued only after the |
9 | | receipt of a physician's statement confirming the applicant is |
10 | | handicapped as defined above.

13 | | Sec. 2.5a. Youth crossbow use. An individual with a youth |
14 | | hunting license who is unable to pull the draw weight of a bow |
15 | | and arrow other than a crossbow may use a crossbow during the |
16 | | regular deer archery season annually determined by the |
17 | | Director, provided that the individual remains under the direct |
18 | | supervision of an adult of 21 years of age or older who |
19 | | possesses a valid archery deer permit. |
20 | | Youths authorized to take deer with a crossbow as provided |
21 | | in this Section shall first obtain a "Deer Hunting Permit" |
22 | | issued by the Department in accordance with its administrative |
23 | | rules and with the express permission of an adult of 21 years |
24 | | of age or older.
