AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2925

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2925 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Podiatric Medical Practice Act of 1987 is
5amended by changing Section 12 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 100/12)  (from Ch. 111, par. 4812)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2018)
8    Sec. 12. Temporary license; qualifications and terms.
9    (A) Podiatric physicians otherwise qualified for
10licensure, with the exception of completion of their one year
11of postgraduate training and the exception of the successful
12completion of the written practical examination required under
13Section 10, may be granted a 3-year one year temporary license
14to practice podiatric medicine provided that the applicant can
15demonstrate that he or she has been accepted and is enrolled in
16a recognized postgraduate training program during the period

1for which the temporary license is sought. Such temporary
2licenses shall be valid for the duration of the program, not to
3exceed 3 years, provided that the applicant continues in the
4approved program and is in good standing at one year from the
5date of issuance for the practice site issued and may be
6renewed once. In addition, an applicant may request a one-year
7extension pursuant to the rules of the Department. Such
8applicants shall apply in writing on those forms prescribed by
9the Department and shall submit with the application the
10required application fee. Other examination fees that may be
11required under Section 8 must also be paid by temporary
12licensees.
13    (B) Application for visiting professor permits shall be
14made to the Department in writing on forms prescribed by the
15Department and be accompanied by the required fee. Requirements
16for a visiting professor permit issued under this Section shall
17be determined by the Department by rule. Visiting professor
18permits shall be valid for one year from the date of issuance
19or until such time as the faculty appointment is terminated,
20whichever occurs first, and may be renewed once.
