2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Podiatric Medical Practice Act of 1987 is |
5 | | amended by changing Section 5 as follows:
|
6 | | (225 ILCS 100/5) (from Ch. 111, par. 4805)

7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2018)

8 | | Sec. 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:
|
9 | | (A) "Department" means the Department of Financial and
|
10 | | Professional Regulation.
|
11 | | (B) "Secretary" means the Secretary of Financial and |
12 | | Professional Regulation.
|
13 | | (C) "Board" means the Podiatric Medical Licensing Board |
14 | | appointed
by
the Secretary.
|
15 | | (D) "Podiatric medicine" or "podiatry" means the
|
16 | | diagnosis, medical,
physical, or surgical treatment of the |
17 | | ailments of the human foot , including amputations; provided |
18 | | that amputations of the human foot are limited to 10 |
19 | | centimeters proximal to the tibial talar articulation . |
20 | | "Podiatric medicine" or "podiatry" includes the provision of |
21 | | topical and local anesthesia and moderate and deep sedation, as |
22 | | defined by Department rule adopted under the Medical Practice |
23 | | Act of 1987. For the purposes of this Act, the terms podiatric |
