Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to establish rules granting visitation privileges to a non-custodial grandparent of a child who is in the care and custody of the Department. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended |
| 5 | | by adding Section 35.8 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 505/35.8 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 35.8. Grandparent visitation. The Department shall |
| 8 | | establish rules granting visitation privileges to a |
| 9 | | non-custodial grandparent of a child who is in the care and |
| 10 | | custody of the Department.

| 11 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 12 | | becoming law.
