SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Cora L. Cunningham, who passed away on
4September 23, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cora Cunningham was born on August 11, 1945; her
6parents were Chandler and Quilla M. Walker, Sr.; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Cora Cunningham worked for Commonwealth Edison
8for many years until her retirement at the age of 50; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Cora Cunningham accepted Christ as her Lord and
10Savior at an early age; she was a longtime member of the choir
11and secretary at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under
12the leadership of Pastor Ezell G. Robins; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Cora Cunningham was a member and secretary of the
14Waukegan Chapter Alabama Club for many years; she was also a
15member of the North Chicago Library Board of Trustees and the
16North Shore Dart League; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Cora Cunningham is preceded in death by her
18parents; 3 sisters, Maggie Walker, Emma L. Smith, and Ollie M.
19Walker; and 3 brothers, Jesse T. Walker, Ivory Walker, and
20Robert "RJ" Walker; and

1    WHEREAS, Cora Cunningham is survived by a sister, Robin R.
2Dixon; 4 brothers, Chandler "Chet" Walker, Harry (Gloria)
3Walker, Frank (Dorothy) Walker, and Wesley Walker; a
4godbrother, Mickey Johnson; a godsister, Cora L. Rice; 2
5sisters-in-law, Catherine Walker and Irene Walker; 2 aunts and
6uncles; and many special nieces and nephews, other relatives,
7and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Cora L. Cunningham;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Cora Cunningham as an expression of
14our sympathy.
