SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William W. "Willie" Irons, Jr. of Oak
4Park, who passed away on June 29, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was born on April 12, 1947 in
6Moberly, Missouri; his parents were William W., Sr. and Jean
7Irons; and
 
8    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. served his country as a member
9of the United States Army in Vietnam; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was a graduate of Decatur
11Eisenhower High School; he subsequently attended Columbia
12College, where he studied photography, and the Coyne Institute,
13where he learned the HVAC trade; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. worked in the maintenance
15department at Oak Park and River Forest High Schools for 23
16years until his retirement in 2002; and
 
17    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was a member of the 5th Army
18Band and played flute, piccolo, and saxophone; he also played
19in a number of local ensembles, including the West Suburban
20Community Band; and

1    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was an avid reader, modeler,
2machinist, and photographer; he was also a lover of old-time
3radio shows; and
 
4    WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. is survived by his wife, Mary
5Rose "Mitzi" (nee Jamnik); his brother, James (Jonetta); his
6brother-in-law, Yanez Jamnik; and his nieces and nephews,
7Jonathan (fiancee, Allison Mickel) Irons, Joseph Irons,
8Karolena Jamnik, Justyna (Dan) Melehan, and Jason (Danielle)
9Jamnik; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of William W. "Willie"
13Irons, Jr.; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of William Irons, Jr. as an expression
16of our sympathy.
