SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert C. "Bob" Beutel of Joliet, who
4passed away on September 20, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Beutel was born in Joliet on April 23, 1930 to
6George and Clara (nee Martin) Beutel; he was a graduate of St.
7John's Catholic School and Joliet Catholic High School in 1948;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Beutel operated Beutel Motors AMC/Jeep with
10his father, George, and brother, Gordon, for over 50 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Beutel was a member of St. John's Catholic
12Church; he served as President of the Joliet Area New Car
13Dealers, the American Motors National Dealer Advisory Board,
14the St. John's Catholic Church Parish Council, and the Holy
15Name Society; he was a Trustee for Western Catholic Union, the
16Joliet Area New Car Dealers Health and Benefits Board; the
17Joliet Rivals Club, the Old Timers Baseball Association, and
18Joliet Catholic High School; he ushered at St. John's for over
1960 years; in retirement, he worked part-time at Harris Bank and
20as a starter at Inwood Golf Course where he continued to renew
21acquaintances; he enjoyed spending time with his wife and
22friends playing cards, watching his grandchildren at sporting

1events, and playing with the great-grandchildren; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bob Beutel was proceeded in death by his parents,
3George and Clara Beutel; brother, George; sister, Joan; and
4brothers-in-law, John Alsbury and John Bedesky; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Beutel is survived by his wife, Helen (nee
6Bedesky); 2 children, Chuck (Denise) and Karen (Dave) Terdic;
7grandchildren, Matt (Stephanie) Terdic, Andy Terdic, Chris
8Terdic, and Megan Beutel; twin great-grandchildren, Caleb and
9Madison Terdic; brothers, James (Joann) and Gordon (Nancy);
10sisters, Charlene (Bill) Kobe and Janet Alsbury;
11sisters-in-law, Eileen Bedesky and Eleanor Beutel; and
12numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Robert C. "Bob" Beutel, and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Robert Beutel as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
