SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Bruens of McHenry, who passed
4away on July 19, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens was born on November 2, 1940 in
6Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his parents were Anthony Richard and Mary
7Jane (nee Peckenpaugh) Bruens; he married LaVerne Klajbor on
8October 14, 1967 at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church in
9Chicago; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens served his country as a member of
11the United States Army from 1960 until 1966; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens worked with the Santa Fe Burlington
13Northern Railroad for 40 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens enjoyed golfing, collecting coins,
15baseball cards, and stamps, and telling stories; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens was a devout Catholic and a member
17of the Church of Holy Apostles; he was also a member of the
18McHenry Polish Legion Post #188 and Knights of Columbus; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens was preceded in death by his wife,

1LaVerne, and his parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Bruens is survived by his children, Dawn
3(Michael) Chubeck, Michael (Colleen) Bruens, and Michelle
4(Robert) Reed, and his grandchildren, Jacob, Miranda, Kayla,
5Jack, Allie, Vanessa, and Haven; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard Bruens; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Richard Bruens as an expression of
12our sympathy.
