SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William "Bill" H. Allen, who passed away
4on April 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Allen was born in 1942 at the Great Lakes
6Naval Base to Harry and Alice (nee Spellman) Allen; he
7graduated from Waukegan High School in 1960; he married Judi
8Lampinen (nee Postich); and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bill Allen worked as a printer for Abbott Labs for
10nearly 4 decades, retiring in 2000 after 36 years of service;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bill Allen belonged to the Pushbutton's Social
13Club, worked part-time, and hung-out at Ray Riedel's tavern,
14and later the Bears' Den; he enjoyed golf, pool, poker, and
15gambling; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bill Allen and his wife loved taking mini-trips
17"up north", casinos, Door County, dinner out, and dancing; they
18settled in a retirement community in Delavan, Wisconsin in
192002; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Allen is survived by his wife, Judi; his 4
2children, Dawn (Mike) McGuire, Kelly Thompson, Billy (Erin)
3Allen, and Lisa Allen; 2 step-daughters, Melissa (Laurent) Yen
4and Robyn Sims; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;
5sisters, Sue (Lee) Sykes and LoAl (Don) Cielinski; brother,
6Ron; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9William "Bill" H. Allen, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Bill Allen as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
