SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis F. Horwath of Wonder Lake, who
4passed away on January 11, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath was born on August 21, 1917 in
6Chicago; his parents were Michael and Therese (nee Prangle)
7Horwath; he married Bernice M. Meyer on March 22, 1958 at Grace
8Lutheran Church in Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath served his country as a member of
10the United States Army during World War II; he was awarded 4
11Bronze Stars for his service during the Normandy invasion on
12D-Day and in subsequent campaigns; he was also in the Belgian
13town of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath enjoyed a 33-year career at the
15Sunbeam Corporation, where he worked in Quality Control; in
161980, he and his wife moved to Wonder Lake, where they enjoyed
17their retirement years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath enjoyed working with stained glass
19and made several treasured gifts for his family; he also
20enjoyed golf, traveling with his wife throughout the world, and
21spending time with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath was a faithful member of the Wonder
2Lake Bible Church in Wonder Lake; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath was preceded in death by his
4brothers, Michael, John, and Joseph Horwath, and his sisters,
5Anna Horwath and Helen (the late Eugene) Aichele; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Louis Horwath is survived by his wife, Bernice;
7his brother, Edward (the late Vickie) Horwath; and his many
8nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis F. Horwath; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Louis Horwath as an expression of
15our sympathy.
