SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Therese L. "Trixie" Morrissey of Alton,
4who passed away on December 26, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey was born on June 7, 1929 in
6Chicago to Clifford and Sarah Woodbury; she attended Monticello
7College in Godfrey (now Lewis and Clark Community College); she
8married Edmund Miller Morrissey on November 27, 1948 in
9Chicago; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey, along with her husband,
11developed and grew Morrissey Construction Company into one of
12the area's leading construction firms; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey had a passion for art throughout
14her life and was involved in many clubs and organizations; she
15was a life-long member of Saint Ambrose Parish in Godfrey; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey was preceded in death by her
17husband of 62 years, Edmund; her parents; and her siblings,
18Jane Northway, Barbara Burdick, and Cliff Woodbury, Jr.; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Therese Morrissey is survived by her children,
20Edmund (Patricia) Morrissey, Michael (Linda) Morrissey,

11Noah, Luke, and Sophie Brandt; and great-grandchildren, Noah
12Kirimca, Konnor, Kollin, Karson, and Kooper Morrissey, Madison
13and Isabelle Bassett, and Shane and Caroline Morrissey; her
14sister, Jean Culligan; her brother-in-law, Thomas Morrissey,
15M.D.; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends;
16therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Therese L. "Trixie" Morrissey, and extend our sincere
20condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
21her; and be it further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23presented to the family of Therese Morrissey as an expression
24of our deepest sympathy.
