SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wanda G. Palmer of Johnsburg, who passed
4away on October 9, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer was born on August 15, 1922 in
6Grayslake to Jeppe and Arenta (nee Christensen) Jespen; she was
7raised in the Johnsburg area and enjoyed singing and yodelling
8as a child and was heard on WLS Radio in the 1930s; she married
9Harvey V. Palmer on November 14, 1943 at the Ivanhoe Church in
10Mundelein; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer and her husband opened Palmer's Four
12Seasons Gift Shop in Johnsburg in 1973; the store remained a
13family operation until its closing when they were age 87; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer was preceded in death by her husband,
16Harvey; her parents; her brother, Nils "Bud"; and her sisters,
17Betty, Marie, and Lola; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer is survived by her children, Sandra
19(Richard) Kollenkark, Linda (Dennis) Peterson, and Rocky
20(Donna) Palmer; her grandchildren, Tami (John) Pawlik, Wayne

1(Mary) Kollenkark, Shane (Shereen) Peterson, Jason Peterson,
2Derek Palmer, Hanna Mays, Vaughn Mays, Sarah (Brian) Dulek, and
3Megan Boyle; her great-grandchildren, Josh and Ben Pawlik, Luke
4and Issac Kollenkark, Ethan and Rilea Peterson, and Kierra and
5Kaden Dulek; and her brother-in-law, Robert (the late Patricia)
6Palmer; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Wanda G. Palmer, and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Wanda Palmer as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
