SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James T. Heier, who passed away on
4September 1, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Heier was born in Kansas City, Missouri and
6had been a resident of Vernon Hills since 1974; and
 
7    WHEREAS, James Heier worked as a sales representative his
8entire life and was known for never accepting the word "no"; he
9also established fishing derbies in Vernon Hills for veterans
10for 28 years and fishing derbies for disabled children and
11residents of Vernon Hills for 10 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Heier served on the Board of Trustees of
13Vernon Hills for 12 years; he was also a member of the American
14Legion and AMVETS and a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars
15Post 8741; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Heier enjoyed jazz and played base fiddle in
17a band in the 1940s; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Heier was preceded in death by his wife,
19Helen (nee Chrisman), and his daughter, Darlene Rairigh; and

1    WHEREAS, James Heier is survived by his loving children,
2Steven (Barbara) Heier, Richard (Patricia) Heier, and Diana
3Heier; he was also the proud grandfather of 10 and
4great-grandfather of 9; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of James T. Heier; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of James Heier as an expression of our
11sympathy.
