SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alfretta M. Alford of Godfrey, who passed
4away on August 2, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alfretta Alford was born on June 7, 1921 in
6Minooka; her parents were Otto and Ruth (Jones) Heap; she
7married Myron Alford on August 23, 1941 in Joliet; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Alfretta Alford was employed as a nurse at Alton
9Memorial Hospital for many years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Alfretta Alford was a longtime member of 12th
11Street Presbyterian Church, the firefighter auxiliary, and the
12Quilting Guild; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Alfretta Alford was an accomplished musician and
14enjoyed playing the organ; she also enjoyed serving as a foster
15parent to infants, knitting and crocheting, and collecting
16dolls; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Alfretta Alford was preceded in death by her
18daughter-in-law, Kathy Alford; her brothers, Bill and Duane
19Heap; and her sister, Barbara Heap; and

1    WHEREAS, Alfretta Alford is survived by her children,
2Ronald Alford, Rodney (Marilyn) Alford, Richard (Chris)
3Alford, Dennis (Debbie) Alford, Nannette (Steven) White, and
4Susan (Rick) Kessinger; her 17 grandchildren; her 24
5great-grandchildren; and her sister, Norma Snyder; therefore,
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Alfretta M. Alford;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Alfretta Alford as an expression of
13our sympathy.
