SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeanne Marie Petkus of Waukegan, who
4passed away on July 5, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus was born on February 1, 1956, in
6Waukegan to Anthony J. and Irene B. (nee Perkowski) Petkus; she
7received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from
8Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal in 1977; she
9obtained her Master's degree in Education from National College
10of Education in Evanston, now National Louis University; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus began her career as a teacher at St.
12Anastasia Catholic School in Waukegan from 1977 to 1986; for
13the past 27 years, she served as the principal of St. Joseph
14School in Round Lake; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus enjoyed tending to her flowers and
16spending time with her family; she was a dedicated caretaker
17for her parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus is survived by her brothers, Anthony
19"Dick" (Gail) Petkus and Jim (Mary) Petkus; her nieces, Debbi
20(Scott) Clawson, Chrissy (Paul) Novotny, and Jennifer Petkus;
21her nephew, Michael (Amy) Petkus; her great-niece, Kaitlyn; her

1great-nephews, Mullen, Wyatt, Daniel, and Benjamin; and dear
2friends, Maureen Creeden and Chris Mendralla; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Jeanne Marie Petkus, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Jeanne Petkus as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
