SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jack Wooden, who passed away on June 9,
42013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Wooden was born on January 19, 1932, in
6Hartford; his parents were Elbie and Nancy Wooden; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jack Wooden served in the United States Air Force
8in Cheyenne, Wyoming; following his stint in the military, he
9and his wife moved to the Riverbend area, where they became
10members of First Baptist Church of East Alton and owned and
11operated Woody's Drive-Ins and Atlantis Pools; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jack Wooden was preceded in death by his parents;
13his wife, Catherine; his grandson, Garrett Wooden; his
14brothers, Luther and Edwin Wooden; and his sisters, Beatrice
15Hicks, Anna Milazzo Archer, and Nancy Freeman; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jack Wooden is survived by his daughters, Christie
17and Cheryl Wooden and Candy (Vern) Hurley; his sons, Jeff (Sue)
18Wooden and Jon Wooden; his grandchildren, Adam, Nathan, and
19Audrey Dettmers, Cory, Bethany, Chelsey, and Gabrielle Wooden,
20and Hannah and Olivia Hurley; his great-grandchildren, Lilian
21and Samantha Dettmers and Lydia Klocke; his brothers, George

1and Robert Wooden; and his sisters, Barbara Petitt and Shirley
2(Dale) Schofield; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5his family and friends, the passing of Jack Wooden; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Jack Wooden as an expression of our
9sympathy.
