2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Mary M. Mattson, who passed away on March |
4 | | 9, 2013; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Mattson was born in Manistique, Michigan, on |
6 | | March 9, 1943; she later moved to Joliet and started her |
7 | | family; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, While at home raising her own children, Mary |
9 | | Mattson began to work as a home daycare provider; she bestowed |
10 | | much love and compassion to many children of the Joliet area |
11 | | for over 30 years; she also volunteered her time preparing and |
12 | | serving her "special meals" for DayBreak Shelter for over 35 |
13 | | years; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Mary Mattson was a member of St. Patrick Catholic |
15 | | Church; she also attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church; |
16 | | and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Mary Mattson enjoyed spending time with her |
18 | | grandchildren and visiting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan |
19 | | where she was born and reminiscing about past family histories; |

1 | | WHEREAS, Mary Mattson was preceded in death by her parents, |
2 | | Orville and Charlo Mayhew, and her sister, Flora Anthes; and |
3 | | WHEREAS, Mary Mattson is survived by her children, |
4 | | Elizabeth A. (Greg) Ragusa, Eric R. Mattson and Amy M. (Don) |
5 | | Raymer; her grandchildren, Alaina, Alex, and Abby Ragusa and |
6 | | Allison, Ashley, and Andrew Raymer; her sisters, Barb Allen and |
7 | | Cathy Bullard; her brothers-in-law, Jake Anthes and Jim and |
8 | | Thom Mattson; her sister-in-law, Laura Hines; and her many |
9 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
12 | | her family and friends, the passing of Mary M. Mattson; and be |
13 | | it further
|
14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
15 | | presented to the family of Mary Mattson as an expression of our |
16 | | sympathy.
