SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Norma Lee Sholar of Godfrey, who passed
4away on March 2, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Norma Sholar was born in Alton on February 29,
61932, to Arthur Peter and Reba America (Edwards) Schelle, she
7graduated from Alton High School in 1949; she married Dexter
8Atwood Sholar on December 23, 1950, at Scott Air Force Base
9chapel in St. Clair County; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Norma Sholar was a homemaker until 1974 and then
11owned and operated Fast Eddie's Fried Chicken in Alton until
12her retirement in 1998; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Norma Sholar enjoyed baking, crochet, and was
14dedicated to her family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Norma Sholar was preceded in death by her parents;
16her 2 infant children; her sister, Nancy Westbrook; her
17brother, Arthur Thomas Schelle; her parents-in-law, Emit and
18Rutha Bell (Chadwick) Sholar; her brothers-in-law, Leon
19Little, Henry L. Sholar, Jud Sholar, Franklin Sholar, Monroe
20Anderson, and J.B. Shirley; and her sisters-in-law, Teriece
21Shirley and Geneva Sholar; and

1    WHEREAS, Norma Sholar is survived by her husband; her sons,
2Michael "Elwood" Sholar, Edward "Fast Eddie" Sholar, Richard
3"Hawk" Sholar, and John (Shannon) Sholar; her daughters,
4Katherine "Kat" (Mike) Brunaugh, Sandra "Sam" Rynders, and
5Rhonda (Paul) Elmendorf; her sisters, Barbara Little and Linda
6(Gary) Herron; her sisters-in-law, Peg Schelle and Maggie
7Anderson; her brother-in-law, James Westbrook; her
8grandchildren, Michael Sholar Jr., Megan Sholar, and Matthew
9Sholar, (and their mother, Michelle Sholar), Amy Sholar, Edward
10"Eddie" (Trish) Sholar Jr., Maggie Sholar, Katherine (Chris)
11Wilson, (and their mother, Sarah Farley Woodman), Danielle
12(Mick) McCahill, Richard Sholar Jr., (and his mother, Christi
13Boss), John "Artie" (Laurie) Sholar Jr., Andrew Sholar, Judson
14Corby, (and his father, James Corby), Trae Corby, Jason (Nikki)
15Brunaugh, Jenna (Brad) Kaczmarski, Joseph Rynders, Lewis
16Rynders, Frances Rynders, (and their father, Christopher
17Rynders), Dylan Elmendorf, Maxwell Elmendorf, and Dexter
18Elmendorf; her 15 great-grandchildren; and her numerous
19nieces, nephews, and extended family; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22Norma Sholar, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
23family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
