SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Josephine Mary Romano of Wood River,
4formerly of Alton, who passed away on January 27, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Josephine Romano was born on November 11, 1919, in
6Bethalto to Frederick and Myrtle (Chalengsworth) Berghoff; she
7married Anthony Romano in Alton on August 26, 1939; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Josephine Romano was a homemaker all her life; she
9loved to dance, read, and travel throughout the U.S., Canada,
10and Europe; she was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and was a
11member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for more than 70 years,
12where she was active with the CYO and was a member of the Altar
13Society; she prayed the rosary daily and most of all enjoyed
14spending time with her family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Josephine Romano was preceded in death by her
16parents; her sister, Alice Stiegler; her brothers, Leroy,
17Frederick, Eugene, and James Berghoff; her son-in-law, Charles
18Peck; and her sister-in-law, Rose Dipiazzo; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Josephine Romano is survived by her husband of 73
20years, Frederick; her daughters, Mary Jo Romano-Buesteton and
21Judi Peck; her son-in-law, Joel Buesteton; her grandchildren,

1Erin (Carl) Oest-Larsen, Dr. Kyle Buesteton, and Sarah
2Buesteton; her great-grandchildren, Lene and Kate Oest-Larsen;
3her sister, Mary Oldham; her brother, Robert (Irene Jeanne)
4Berghoff; her sister-in-law, Elaine Berghoff; her nieces,
5nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and her very dear friend,
6Nina Olmsted; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Josephine Romano, and we extend our sincere condolence to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Josephine Romano as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
