SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Ralph Baahlmann Sr. of
4Godfrey, who passed away on December 25, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann was born on September 26, 1924, in
6Aviston to Henry and Frances (Renschen) Baahlmann; he became a
7registered nurse and worked his way through dental school at
8St. Louis University School of Dentistry; he served in the
9Korean War and he married Virginia "Ginny" Gangloff on June 14,
101952; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann built a dental practice in Alton and
12served the community until his retirement in 1996; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic
14Church in Godfrey, was a lifetime member of the Knights of
15Columbus, and was a member of Lockhaven Country Club; he served
16on the board of directors of St. Anthony's Hospital and served
17on the Illinois State Board of Examiners for Dentistry; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann is survived by his wife, Virginia;
19his children, Ralph H. Baahlmann Jr., Mark G. Baahlmann,
20Barbara M. Boyd (Dr. Tobin Boyd), Matthew L. Baahlmann (Teri),
21Nancy E. Reese (Tom), and John L. Baahlmann (Nancy); his

1grandchildren, Matthew and Jill Baahlmann, Matthew Korte and
2Kortney, Nick Korte, Christopher and Megan Springman, Grace and
3Jacob Reese, and Ashley Kaid (Anthony); and his
4great-grandchildren, Keagan Korte and Haylee Kaid; therefore,
5be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Dr. Baahlmann, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dr. Baahlmann as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
