SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
210 ILCS 45/1-125.1  from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4151-125.1

    Amends the Nursing Home Care Act. Changes the definition of "student intern" to include a person whose term of employment, in addition to certain other requirements: (1) is an academic credit requirement in a graduate institution; (2) immediately succeeds a full quarter, semester or trimester of academic enrollment in a graduate institution, with certain requirements; or (3) immediately succeeds graduation from the high school or undergraduate or graduate institution. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by changing
5Section 1-125.1 as follows:
 
6    (210 ILCS 45/1-125.1)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4151-125.1)
7    Sec. 1-125.1. "Student intern" means any person whose total
8term of employment in any facility during any 12-month period
9is equal to or less than 90 continuous days, and whose term of
10employment is either,
11    (1) an academic credit requirement in a high school or
12undergraduate or graduate institution; , or
13    (2) immediately succeeds a full quarter, semester or
14trimester of academic enrollment in either a high school or
15undergraduate or graduate institution, provided that such
16person is registered for another full quarter, semester or
17trimester of academic enrollment in either a high school or
18undergraduate or graduate institution which quarter, semester
19or trimester will commence immediately following the term of
20employment; or .
21    (3) immediately succeeds graduation from the high school or
22undergraduate or graduate institution.

1    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2becoming law.
