HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of George
4Thomas Workman of Benton, who passed away on May 24, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Workman was born on February 11, 1992 in
6Mt. Vernon; his parents were Steven L. Workman and Stacia A.
7(nee Henrick) Workman; and
 
8    WHEREAS, George Workman had a passion for music and shared
9his enthusiasm and talent with the world around him; he was
10well known as a gifted singer, song writer, performer, actor,
11musician, and friend; and
 
12    WHEREAS, George Workman was a student at Rend Lake College;
13he enjoyed participating in the theatre and music programs; and
 
14    WHEREAS, George Workman was involved in many activities in
15his community, including marching band, scholar bowl team,
16national honor society, speech team, jazz band, choir,
17thespians club, and the Southern Illinois Earth Science Club;
18he was also a guitar player and singer in a rock band and a
19beloved member of the First United Methodist Church of Benton;
20and

1    WHEREAS, George Workman was preceded in death by his
2brother, Jeffery Workman; paternal grandparents, Joyce and
3Nelson Workman and Shirley (Kenneth) Wear; and an uncle,
4Jeffrey Henrick; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Workman is survived by his parents; 2
6sisters, Virginia (Nathan West) Workman and Melissa Workman;
7his maternal grandfather, Francis (Pat) Henrick; aunts and
8uncles, Janice Langford, Nelson Workman, Jr., John (Denise)
9Workman, and David (Stephanie) Henrick; and many cousins and
10friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
14George Thomas Workman; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of George Workman as an expression of
17our sympathy.
