SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 5/6-205.4 new

    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that anyone under 21 years of age that is convicted of possession of cannabis under the Cannabis Control Act shall have their driver's license suspended for a period of 3 months. Provides that upon conviction the court shall order the license surrendered to clerk of the court, who shall forward the license and a report of the conviction to the Secretary of State.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5Section 6-205.4 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/6-205.4 new)
7    Sec. 6-205.4. Suspension of a minor's driver's license for
8possession of cannabis. The driver's license of a person under
921 years of age convicted of possession of cannabis under
10Section 4 of the Cannabis Control Act shall be suspended by the
11Secretary for a period of 3 months. Upon conviction of a person
12under 21 years of age for possession of cannabis the court
13shall order the person to surrender his or her driver's license
14or permit to the clerk of the court, who shall forward the
15license, together with a report of the conviction, to the
16Secretary.
