SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
735 ILCS 5/9-206  from Ch. 110, par. 9-206

    Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that a written notice to terminate a year-to-year lease of farm land, unless there is a written agreement to the contrary, shall be given by September 15 of the then current year (instead of in writing by not less than 4 months prior to the end of the year of letting).

1    AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by
5changing Section 9-206 as follows:
 
6    (735 ILCS 5/9-206)  (from Ch. 110, par. 9-206)
7    Sec. 9-206. Notice to terminate tenancy of farm land.
8Subject to the provisions of Section 16 of the Landlord and
9Tenant Act, unless otherwise agreed to in writing, in order to
10terminate tenancies from year to year of farm lands, occupied
11on a crop share, livestock share, cash rent or other rental
12basis, the notice to quit shall be given in writing no later
13than September 15 of the then current calendar year not less
14than 4 months prior to the end of the year of letting. Such
15notice may not be waived in a verbal lease. The notice to quit
16may be substantially in the following form:
17    To A.B.: You are hereby notified that I have elected to
18terminate your lease of the farm premises now occupied by you,
19being (here describe the premises) and you are hereby further
20notified to quit and deliver up possession of the same to me at
21the end of the lease year, the last day of such year being
22(here insert the last day of the lease year).
