SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara J. (Bellis) Harpman of Galesburg,
4formerly of Victoria, who passed away on September 18, 2011;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, She was born January 16, 1939, the daughter of
7Joseph G. and Frances (Botruff) Bellis; she married Richard L.
8Harpman on August 6, 1966, in Wataga; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She worked as a secretary for many years in
10Galesburg, working at the State Research Hospital, the Illinois
11Department of Employment Security, and the Henry C. Hill
12Correctional Center, before she retired in 1996; and
 
13    WHEREAS, She was involved in PTA, Brownies, and Girl Scouts
14as her children grew up; she was a member of Faith Lutheran
15Church in Wataga, and was a member of Women of the Evangelical
16Lutheran Church in America; she always had time to talk,
17enjoyed visiting with people, and loved animals; and
 
18    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Barbara Harpman is survived by her mother, Frances

1Bellis; her son, Mark (Renee) Spenny; her daughters, Julie
2(Brian) Kaminski, Cara Bannon, and Amy Harpman; her sister,
3Merrily (Ralph) Sargent; her grandchildren, Brandon and Ambra
4Haake; and her 4 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7her family and friends, the passing of Barbara Harpman; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Barbara Harpman as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
