SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary W. Willi of Peoria, who passed away
4on August 9, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born July 6, 1915, in Funks Grove, a
6daughter of Frederick C. and Flora Sims Wright; she married
7Boyd J. Rahn on January 3, 1942, in Peoria; he passed away in
81962; she then married Carl H. Willi on June 14, 1969, in
9Peoria, and he passed away in 1986; and
 
10    WHEREAS, She obtained her master's degree in education from
11Bradley University; she was a teacher for District 150,
12teaching at White School for many years; she was involved with
13Reading for the Blind through WBCU; and
 
14    WHEREAS, She volunteered at the information desk at OSF
15Saint Francis Medical Center; she also served as a Eucharist
16minister for Bel-Wood Nursing Home; and
 
17    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husbands; her
18sons, Rex Rahn and Paul Willi; her granddaughter, Barbara
19Willi; her grandsons, Jacob Willi and Bernie Hayden Jr.; and
20her brothers, Frederick and Richard Wright; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Willi is survived by her daughters, Mary
2Angela (Ed) Willi, Martha (Don Schwingel) Willi, and Mary
3Hayden; her sons, David (Lucy) Rahn, John (Sandy) Rahn, Robert
4(Sharey) Willi, John (Susan) Willi, Edward (Mary Angela) Willi,
5David (Michelle) Willi, Mark (Dana) Willi, Pete (Mary) Willi,
6and Martin (Mary) Willi; her daughter-in-law, Cathi Willi; her
738 grandchildren; her 36 great-grandchildren; and her sisters,
8Jean (John) Licata and Joann Norton; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Mary Willi; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Mary Willi as a symbol of our
15sincere sympathy.
