SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Perry of Collinsville, who was
4killed in the line of duty on March 8, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Perry served with the United States Marshals
6Service for nearly 10 years; he was well-known by his fellow
7marshals as a humorous and upbeat person and a fine officer;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Prior to his career with the Marshals Service,
10John Perry served as a Madison County probation officer for 16
11years; as a probation officer, he spent most of his time in
12adult probation, with a small stint in juvenile; he excelled on
13the "intensive probation unit", composed of armed probation
14officers who are given the highest-risk offenders, violent
15felons, and those deemed most likely to reoffend; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Perry served as a model of hard work,
17integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
18Illinois and the nation at large; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
21his family and friends, the passing of John Perry; and be it
