1    AN ACT concerning gaming.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Video Gaming Act is amended by adding
5Section 79 as follows:
 
6    (230 ILCS 40/79 new)
7    Sec. 79. Investigators. Investigators appointed by the
8Board pursuant to the powers conferred upon the Board by
9paragraph (20.6) of subsection (c) of Section 5 of the
10Riverboat Gambling Act and Section 80 of this Act shall have
11authority to conduct investigations, searches, seizures,
12arrests, and other duties imposed under this Act and the
13Riverboat Gambling Act, as deemed necessary by the Board. These
14investigators have and may exercise all of the rights and
15powers of peace officers, provided that these powers shall be
16(1) limited to offenses or violations occurring or committed in
17connection with conduct subject to this Act, including, but not
18limited to, the manufacture, distribution, supply, operation,
19placement, service, maintenance, or play of video gaming
20terminals and the distribution of profits and collection of
21revenues resulting from such play, and (2) exercised, to the
22fullest extent practicable, in cooperation with the local
23police department of the applicable municipality or, if these

1powers are exercised outside the boundaries of an incorporated
2municipality or within a municipality that does not have its
3own police department, in cooperation with the police
4department whose jurisdiction encompasses the applicable
5locality.
 
6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
7becoming law.
