HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of United
4States Army Specialist Trevor Pinnick of Lawrenceville, who
5gave his life defending America's freedom on June 11, 2012,
6near Panjwa'I, Kandahar, Afghanistan; and
 
7    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick was born on January 6, 1992; he
8was the son of Thomas and Nancy Pinnick of Lawrenceville; and
 
9    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick graduated from Lawrenceville
10High School in May of 2010; he later entered the Army in August
11of 2010 and reported to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for basic
12training; and
 
13    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick married his high school
14sweetheart, Martha, on July 9, 2010; he was the proud father of
15Melody Renee Pinnick, who was born on September 15, 2010; and
 
16    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick served with the 18th Engineer
17Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd
18Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 2nd Infantry Division, out
19of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; and
 
20    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick received the Army Achievement

1Medal on September 6, 2011 for his work in August 2011 with the
218th Engineer Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment and
3was promoted to Specialist in the first week of June 2011; and
 
4    WHEREAS, United States and Illinois flags throughout the
5State flew at half-staff as a symbol of mourning and to honor
6the sacrifice of SPC Trevor Pinnick; and
 
7    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick will be remembered for his love
8of practical jokes, his warm heart, his patriotism, and his
9bravery; and
 
10    WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick dedicated his life to defending
11America's freedom and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to
12his nation; he will be dearly missed by his wife, Martha
13Pinnick; his daughter, Melody Pinnick; his mother, Nancy
14Pinnick; his father, Thomas Pinnick; his older brother, Thomas
15Pinnick Jr.; his twin sisters, Kayla Lynn Pinnick and Bethany
16Rose Pinnick; his fellow soldiers; and the citizens of a
17grateful nation; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we mourn, along with his family, friends, and the members of a
21grateful nation, the passing of United States Army Specialist
22Trevor Pinnick; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of SPC Trevor Pinnick as a symbol of
3our sympathy.
