HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kim
4Presbrey of Aurora, who passed away on May 26, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was born on July 1, 1951, in Aurora;
6his parents were Betty and George Presbrey; he graduated from
7West Aurora High School in 1969, Northwestern University in
81973, and Vanderbilt Law School in 1976; after graduation, he
9practiced law with his father at Presbrey and Presbrey and
10became principal owner of the firm after his father's
11retirement; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the managing partner of Presbrey &
13 Associates and practiced workers' compensation law since
141977; he also served as president of Illinois Futures, Inc., a
15scholarship program for children of disabled workers, for 10
16years and was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Doctors
17Direct, Inc.; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was a past president of the Illinois
19Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Illinois Trial
20Lawyers Association, the Workers' Compensation Lawyers
21Association, the Illinois State Bar, American Trial Lawyers,
22the Workplace Injury Litigation Group, and the Kane County Bar

1Association; he was also the founder of the Kane County Bar
2Association's Workers' Compensation Section; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the co-author of the LexisNexis
4Illinois Workers' Compensation Guidebook; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was a member of the North American
6Versatile Hunting Dog Association, the Illinois chapter of
7NAVHDA, the AOPA, and EEA; he also worked with the Illinois
8Conservation Foundation for many years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey enjoyed hunting and fishing, nature,
10traveling, flying, and walking with his dog, Hershey; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey is survived by his wife, Colleen; his
12sons, Kenton (fiancee, Kelly Johnson) and Kevin; and his
13brother, Tom (Laurie) Presbrey, and his children, Joseph,
14Scott, and Kara; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Kim
18Presbrey; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Kim Presbrey as an expression of our
