HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marine
4Corporal Conner Thomas Lowry, who died while serving his
5country in Afghanistan; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Corporal Lowry's passing is deeply mourned and his
7memory is forever kept alive by his loving family, many
8friends, and countless members of the Chicago Southside
9community who knew Conner as a spirited, intelligent, and
10loving young man who often thought of others before himself;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, The tragic loss of Corporal Lowry is most deeply
13felt by his family, including his mother, Modie Lavin; his late
14father, Thomas Lowry; his siblings, Grace Lavin, Margot Lavin,
15Brian Lavin, Kim Lavin, and Charley Lavin; his many aunts,
16uncles, cousins, and countless friends; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Corporal Lowry was born, raised, and was deeply
18rooted in a Southside Irish community, a community which loved
19and embraced him; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Corporal Lowry was a graduate of St. John Fisher
21Grammar School in 2002 and Brother Rice High School in 2006;

2    WHEREAS, As a high school football player, he was noted by
3coaches for his personal dedication as well as a commitment to
4making his team better; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was known for having a charismatic personality,
6a great sense of humor, and the ability to brighten the day of
7the people who he encountered; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
11Marine Corporal Conner Thomas Lowry; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Marine Corporal
13Conner Thomas Lowry and his willingness to serve his country,
14which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Marine Corporal Conner Thomas Lowry
18as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
