HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate John T. Hooker on
4his retirement from ComEd; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He is the Executive Vice President of Legislative
6and External Affairs, and is responsible for managing State
7legislative initiatives, as well as developing and maintaining
8strategic relationships with key State stakeholders and large
9customers; he also oversees the functions of Real Estate and
10Facilities and Economic Development; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Prior to his appointment as executive vice
12president, he served as senior vice president of Legislative &
13Governmental Affairs and was responsible for managing ComEd's
14relationships with the Chicago City Council, the Illinois
15General Assembly, and other State agencies; previous to that
16position, he served as senior vice president of Legislative &
17External Affairs for ComEd; and
 
18    WHEREAS, At the same time he served as vice president,
19Property Management, Exelon Energy Delivery, with
20responsibility for facilities, real estate, and claims at both
21ComEd and Philadelphia-based sister company PECO Energy; and

1    WHEREAS, He has served in numerous ComEd departments for 44
2years, holding management positions in industrial relations,
3marketing, governmental, and regulatory affairs; his expertise
4was instrumental to the passage of Illinois' Customer Choice
5Law of 1997; he is a founding member of the Exelon African
6American Members' Association (EAAMA); founded in 1990, the
7organization focuses on building members' individual growth
8opportunities within the company; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He serves on the board of directors of the Chicago
10State University Foundation; the Peoples Consumer Cooperative;
11the Safer Foundation; Junior Achievement; and The African
12American Legacy Initiative; he is a member of the American
13Association of Black in Energy, an organization devoted to
14increasing the number of blacks and other minorities in
15energy-related fields; he also is a member of Chicago State
16University's Business Hall of Fame committee, and is involved
17with the Chicago Public Schools Youth Motivation Program;
18therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21we congratulate John T. Hooker on his retirement and wish him
22the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
23    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
