HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Randy Earl,
4co-owner of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes of Decatur, on
5being elected and installed as the president-elect of the
6National Funeral Directors Association; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was elected and installed during the 2010
8National Funeral Directors Association International
9Convention and Expo, held in October of 2010; and
 
10    WHEREAS, His duties include: serving and assisting the
11Association president, presiding over the National Funeral
12Directors Association Executive Board, the Policy Board, the
13House of Delegates, the International Convention and Expo, the
14Leadership Conference, and the Advocacy Summit in the
15president's absence; he will represent the National Funeral
16Directors Association and its mission at State funeral
17conventions, and will serve on committees and subcommittees;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Randy Earl has been a licensed funeral director
20for more than 40 years; he has served as the secretary,
21vice-president, and president of the Illinois Funeral
22Directors Association in the past; and

1    WHEREAS, With the National Funeral Directors Association,
2he has held the positions of at-large representative,
3secretary, and treasurer on the Executive Board, and was the
4Illinois representative to the National Funeral Directors
5Association Policy Board; and
 
6    WHEREAS, In addition, Randy Earl has served in offices with
7the International Order of the Golden Rule and the Board of the
8Funeral Service Credit Union; he has also served with the
9American Cancer Society, and received the St. George Medal of
10Honor in 2008, the highest award presented to a volunteer by
11the American Cancer Society; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate Randy Earl on being elected as president-elect
15of the National Funeral Directors Association and wish him all
16the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Randy Earl as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
