SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty Jane McClintock of Godfrey, who
4passed away on November 30, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on March 1, 1921, in St. Louis,
6Missouri, and raised by her aunt and uncle, Josephine and Gus
7(Hasler) Greding; she married Robert McClintock on November 6,
81943, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She received her Bachelor of Science degree in
10Registered Nursing from Southern Illinois University in
11Edwardsville; in 1969, she received her Master's degree in
12counselor education; she had a St. Joseph's Alton Community
13District Nursing career beginning in 1943, retiring in 1996,
14with over 50 years in the health care industry; and
 
15    WHEREAS, She worked as a registered nurse and was involved
16in nursing education; she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
17Church in Alton; she was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps
18during World War II; she was a lifetime member of the American
19Red Cross and received the Women of Distinction Award in 1996;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; and

1    WHEREAS, Betty Jane McClintock is survived by her daughters
2and sons-in-law, Sarah "Jane" and the Honorable P.J. O'Neill
3and Susan and Gerry Stauder; her grandchildren and their
4spouses, John (Mitsue) Schold, Caroline (Ian) Horwood, Michael
5(Jana) O'Neill, and Timothy (Nikki) O'Neill; and her
6great-grandchildren, Lisa, Andrew, and Hanna Schold, Carlie,
7Lauren, and Johnny O'Neill, Jack and Tom Horwood, and Colin
8O'Neill; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Betty Jane McClintock;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Betty Jane McClintock as a symbol of
15our sincere sympathy.
