SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald E. "Ron" Herman of Peoria, who
4passed away on November 28, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on July 23, 1939, in Peoria, to Noah
6T. and Lorraine S. (Sutter) Herman; he married Mary Ann Suttor
7on October 26, 1962, in Morton; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He began working with his father's business, Noah
9Herman and Sons, repairing and remodeling homes until becoming
10a carpenter; he founded his own companies, RonWay Realty and
11RonWay Builders, serving as a general contractor for
12residential construction; he then moved into real estate
13investments with the Joseph Company and worked last as a
14stockbroker with Morgan Stanley, retiring in 2004; and
 
15    WHEREAS, He envisioned and spearheaded the financing for
16many Peoria area developments, such as Tomar Knolls, Longwood
17subdivision, Old Orchard development, Junction Oaks, and
18Hollow Creek apartment complexes; he was a member of The
19Gideons International; he was an adult Sunday school teacher at
20Mount Olive Missionary Church, where he once attended; he was
21an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer, and was a member of the
22Peoria Home Builders Association and the National Realtors

1Association and was currently attending Apostolic Christian
2Church of Peoria; and
 
3    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ronald Herman is survived by his wife, Mary Ann
5Herman; his children, Julie Herman, Ronnie Noah Herman, Amy
6(Brandon) Carroll, Joshua (Dayna) Herman, Michael Herman, and
7Nicole Herman; his grandsons, Noah and Seth Herman and Jackson
8Carroll; his siblings, Doris (Jim) Wenninger, Howard (Nancy)
9Herman, Phyllis Lang, Lou Ann (Jim) Funk, Gloria (Don) Bauer,
10Mary (Dave) Ginzel, Allan (Lois) Herman, and Laurie Jo Herman;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14his family and friends, the passing of Ronald Herman; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Ronald Herman as a symbol of our
18sincere sympathy.
