SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John L. Bonie of Aurora, who passed away
4on October 25, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Bonie was born on October 15, 1915, in
6Aurora; he was the son of the late George and Theresa
7(Moldovan) Bonie; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Bonie graduated from East Aurora High School;
9he served his nation as a member of the United States Army Air
10Corps during World War II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Bonie was employed with the Chicago, Aurora,
12and Elgin Railway for 18 years until his resignation as auditor
13of freight accounts and freight claim agent; he was also the
14owner of the Aurora Typewriter Company; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Bonie was a member of the Wesley United
16Methodist Church and the Aurora Cosmopolitan Club, where he
17served as President twice; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Bonie was preceded in death by his wife,
19Dorothy Dell Bonie; his sister, Mary Weber; and his brother,
20George Bonie; and

1    WHEREAS, John Bonie is survived by his son, John G. (Kathy)
2Bonie; his daughter, Karen Lynn (Bruce) Covalt; his
3grandchildren, Dr. Wesley (Dr. Kathleen) Covalt, Amanda
4(Clark) Johnson, Damaris Covalt, Jenna (Karl) Haglund, and John
5J. (Kristen) Bonie; and his great-grandchildren, Jamela
6Covalt, Garrett Andrew Johnson, Cali Bonie, Sophie Lynn
7Johnson, Maya Bonie, Anders Haglund, and Kati Haglund;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of John L. Bonie; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of John Bonie as an expression of our
15sympathy.
