SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald E. Leach of Carlinville, who
4passed away on July 15, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born February 4, 1934 in Carlinville, the
6Son of Earl T. and Leta (Clark) Leach; he was a graduate of
7Carlinville High School, class of 1952; he married Ida Mae
8(Quarton)in South Otter Township on November 14, 1954; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He farmed in Bird Township and worked at the
10Carlinville Post Office as a clerk for more than 30 years;
11after retirement he worked as a substitute bus driver for
12Carlinville School District for 5 years; he also was a trustee
13for Bird Township; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He served as a deacon at Charity Baptist Church
15for over 40 years in addition to teaching Sunday School and
16helping with many carpentry jobs; he was a Senior Adult Leader
17for the Macoupin Baptist Association; he loved to work in his
18woodshop, building keepsakes for his grandchildren and family;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his
21brother, Dale Leach; and

1    WHEREAS, Donald Leach is survived by his wife; his sons,
2David E. Leach and Darrell E. Leach (Sandi); his daughters,
3Deann M. LaTerre (Glenn) and Leann M. Barr (Dave); his
4grandchildren, Andrew Leach, Michelle Mattingly, Amanda Welte,
5Adriann Welte, and Sophie LaTerre; his step-grandchildren,
6Aleah Owens and Emily Barr; his great-grandchildren, Griffin
7Leach and Julia Leach; his sisters, Dolores Frankford (Alvis)
8and Marilyn Mieher; his sister-in-law, Bev Leach; and several
9nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Donald Leach; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Donald Leach as a symbol of our
16sincere sympathy.
