SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond Tarsor Tucker of North Chicago,
4who passed away on September 30, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Tucker was born in West Columbia, South
6Carolina on March 13, 1939, to Margaret A. Tucker and Haywood
7L. Suber; he married Sandra L. Tucker in Norfolk, Virginia over
845 years ago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Navy on July 9,
101957, where he served continuously until his retirement as a
11Master Chief Petty Officer in December of 1986; he then was
12employed by the United States Navy as a Transportations
13Specialist Supervisor and retired as Director of
14Transportation in December of 2008; and he was a commissioner
15of the North Chicago Housing Authority; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He was a reading power luncheon supporter; he was
17past commander of the American Legion, Sharvin Post Number 397;
18he was also a member of Turner AME Church in Columbia, South
19Carolina, and regularly attended Trinity AME Church in
20Waukegan; and
 
21    WHEREAS, He was Administrative Assistant to the Grand

20adopted daughters, Althea Wilkerson, Bernadette Johnson, and
21Debrau Major; his grandchildren, United States Army Sergeant
22Andre L. Tucker II (Lisa), Andre L. Tucker II, Kevin Dessaure,
23Alicia Tarsor (Lamarcus) Johnson, Zina Tucker, Sabrina (Gino)
24Rockinelli, Jeremiah Tucker, Vinson Nelson, Antonia, Ashley,
25Jeremy, Brittany, and Jalen Johnson, Monaye Welton, Raymond

5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8his family and friends, the passing of Raymond Tucker; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Raymond Tucker as a symbol of our
12sincere sympathy.
