SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Darlene Marie Van Ham of North Aurora,
4who passed away on October 7, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born November 30, 1931, in Waukon, Iowa,
6to Marie and Charles Davis; she relocated to Aurora, where she
7met her adoring husband, Bernie; they shared 44 years together
8and raised six boys; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Darlene spent her lifetime supporting those she
10loved; she spent countless hours cheering for her children and
11grandchildren in the bleachers of numerous ball fields,
12gymnasiums, pools, and stadiums throughout the State; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Darlene worked tirelessly as a nurse for 52 years
14at St. Charles Hospital, Copley Hospital, and Dreyer Medical
15Clinic; she continued to serve others after her retirement,
16through her work at Aurora's free clinic and will be long
17remembered for her gentle touch and kind words; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Darlene was preceded in death by her loving
19husband; her mother and father; her sisters, Eleanor and
20Margaret; and her brother, Thomas; and

1    WHEREAS, She is survived by her children, grandchildren,
2and her sister, Elaine; Darlene was a proud and loving mother
3to Bernie (Diane), Tom (Marsha), Jim (Jane), Rich (Nora), Steve
4(Christine), and Mark; and she was a doting grandmother to
5Camille (Mark Tan), Matt, Amy, Chris, Hillary, Jared, Michael,
6Melissa, and Alisha; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9her family and friends, the passing of Darlene Marie Van Ham;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Darlene Marie Van Ham as a symbol of
13our sincere sympathy.
