SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant
4Christopher J. Antonik, of San Clemente, California, formerly
5of Crystal Lake, who was killed in the line of duty in Helmand
6Province, Afghanistan, on July 11, 2010; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Christopher J. Antonik was born May 4, 1981, in
8Chicago, to John and Cindy Antonik; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was united in marriage to Erin Gilbert on
10December 12, 2009; and
 
11    WHEREAS, For more than nine years, he proudly served the
12nation as a member of the United States Marine Corps; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal
14grandfather, Alex Antonik; and his maternal grandparents, Mr.
15and Mrs. Charlie Shaw; and
 
16    WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant
17Christopher J. Antonik is survived by his beloved wife, Erin
18Antonik; his devoted parents, John and Cindy Antonik; his dear
19sister, Jen (Ken) Bond; his adoring nieces and nephews, Kylie
20and Xander Bond and Jack and Alexa Farmer; his cherished

1grandma, Florence Antonik; and his special friend, Chase;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of
6Staff Sergeant Christopher Antonik; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Staff Sergeant
8Christopher J. Antonik and his willingness to serve his
9country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Staff Sergeant Christopher J.
13Antonik as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
