SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of United States Marine Corps Corporal
4Christopher J. Boyd, formerly of Palatine, who was killed in
5the line of duty on August 19, 2010, while serving in Helmand
6Province, Afghanistan; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine
8Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force,
9out of Camp Pendleton, California; and
 
10    WHEREAS, He was a 2006 graduate of Palatine High School in
11Palatine, where he played football and lacrosse and wrestled
12for the high school wrestling team; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He received a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon,
14Humanitarian Service Medal, and the National Defense Service
15Medal during his time of service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher
17J. Boyd is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia Boyd;
18his wife, Danielle; and their twin sons, Jack and Evan;
19therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
2his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of
3United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd; and be
4it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of United States Marine
6Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd and his willingness to serve
7his country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of United States Marine Corporal
11Christopher J. Boyd as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
