SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John E. Lind, who passed away on May 25,
42010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Lind was born on May 26, 1934, in
6Edwardsville; he was the son of Frank Emil and Alice "Ruth"
7(Honeyman) Lind; he married the former Lila Logeman on October
825, 1997, in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Lind served in the United States Navy for 8
10years and in the United States Army Reserve for 17 years,
11serving tours of duty during the Korean War and Operation
12Desert Storm; and
 
13    WHEREAS, John Lind was employed as a journeyman machinist
14for Owens Illinois until his retirement; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Lind was a member of numerous organizations,
16including the VFW 1308 Ritual Team, the Knights of Columbus,
17the Eagles Club, the American Legion, the Franklin Masonic
18Lodge 25 AF & AM, the Boy Scouts of America, the AFL-CIO, the
19Jerseyville Moose Lodge, and the Brighton Rod and Gun Club; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Lind was preceded in death by his parents and

1his wife, Sharon (Holmes) Lind; and
 
2    WHEREAS, John Lind is survived by his wife, Lila Lind; his
3children, Kathy Jones and her husband, Marty, Frank Lind, Chris
4Lind and his wife, Nancy, Tammy Beverly, Fawn Dintelmann and
5her husband, Drew, and Theresa Oberlohr and her husband, Matt;
6his stepsons, Darren Pohlman and his wife, Shelly, Duane
7Pohlman and his wife, Natalie, and Daryl Pohlman and his wife,
8Tammy; his grandchildren, DoeAnn Lind, Jason Jones, Julie
9Vatole, Michael Jones, Jordan Lind, Lindsay Lind, Aaron Lind,
10Noahe Lind, Matthew Oberlohr, and Sabrina Oberlohr; his 6
11great-grandchildren; his sisters, Jane Schwartzkopf and her
12husband, Neal, Mary Curtin and her late husband, Phil Curtain,
13and Patricia "Pat" Gvillo and her husband, Richard; and his
14many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17his family and friends, the passing of John E. Lind; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of John Lind as an expression of our
21sympathy.
