SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Harry Andrew Ulferts of Dixon, who passed
4 away on May 19, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Harry Ulferts was born March 27, 1984, in Dixon,
6 the son of Harry D. and Peggy L. (Gabany) Ulferts; he was a
7 combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, serving as a
8 Sergeant with the 333rd Military Police Company, Illinois Army
9 National Guard, in Afghanistan; with his fellow soldiers, he
10 served his country well, earning the Combat Action Badge and an
11 Army Commendation Medal, in addition to several other Medals
12 and Ribbons; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was a police officer for the Amboy and Franklin
14 Grove police departments; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Harry was a member and Sunday School teacher at
16 Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon; he was a Boy Scout with Troop
17 93, an Eagle Scout, and a Life Member of the National Rifle
18 Association; he was attending Sauk Valley Community College,
19 pursuing a degree in criminal justice; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his maternal
21 grandparents, Louis and Alice Gabany; and his paternal

1 grandfather, Harry V. Ulferts; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Harry Ulferts is survived by his parents, Harry D.
3 and Peggy L. Ulferts; his sister, Elise Christine Ulferts; his
4 paternal grandmother, Magdalene "Peg" Ulferts; several aunts,
5 uncles, and cousins; and many, many friends; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of Harry Andrew Ulferts;
9 and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Harry Ulferts as a symbol of our
12 sincere sympathy.
