SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Alice M. Walsh (nee Hess) of Elwood, who
4 passed away on April 26, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Alice Walsh was born on January 14, 1923 in
6 Channahon Township; she was a lifelong resident of Elwood; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Alice Walsh was a lifetime member of St. Rose
8 Parish in Wilmington; she was also a member of the St. Rose
9 CCW, the Jackson Twilighters, the Will County Farm Bureau Prime
10 Timers, the Jackson Township Historical Society, and the Ladies
11 Auxiliary VFW Stone City Post; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Alice Walsh cherished her life on the farm; she
13 enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing
14 euchre with her grandchildren, and spending time with the many
15 friends she made through her social activities and traveling;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, Alice Walsh was preceded in death by her husband,
18 Robert L. Walsh; her parents, Raymond and Nellie (nee Noonan)
19 Hess; her sister, Mary E. (the late Robert) Forsythe; her
20 brother, Raymond William (the late Dorothy) Hess; and her
21 brother-in-law, T. Raymond (the late Margaret) Walsh; and

1     WHEREAS, Alice Walsh is survived by her sons, Robert L.
2 (Linda), Lawrence (Irene), John (Susan), Martin (Karen), and
3 Edward (Donna); her daughters, JoAnne (Martin) Katzmarek, Mary
4 (Thomas) Baudino, and Nancy Walsh (Linda Mackley); her 25
5 grandchildren; her 38 great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law,
6 Francis (Evelyn) Walsh; and her many nieces and nephews;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Alice M. Walsh; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Alice Walsh as an expression of our
14 sympathy.
