SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of James E. "Jim" Plocher of Highland, who
4 passed away on April 18, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, James Plocher was born on October 1, 1948 in
6 Highland; Mr. Plocher was a graduate of St. Paul High School in
7 Highland and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where
8 he worked on a Dairy Test Farm and as "Sandwich Man"; and
 
9     WHEREAS, After graduating, he helped on the Dairy Farm of
10 Clarence and Ruth Korte for a short time; he was then employed
11 by the U of I Extension Service in Kankakee County for four
12 years as assistant farm advisor; he then worked as an agent for
13 Country Companies from 1975 to 1987; he was hired by Mariah
14 Boats in Benton, and worked there from 1987 to 1998; he
15 returned to Highland in January 1998 and was a financial
16 representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network until
17 his passing; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a fourth degree member of Highland Council
19 1580 Knights of Columbus, serving as grand knight from 2003 to
20 2005; Highland Rotary Club member; St. Paul Educational
21 Foundation board member; Highland Area Community Foundation
22 board member; and an AALU (Association of Advanced Life

1 Underwriters) NAIFA (National Association of Insurance
2 Financial Advisors) member; he was a lector at St. Paul Church;
3 and
 
4     WHEREAS, He enjoyed golf, Cardinals ballgames, gardening,
5 Harley riding, boating, playing bridge, and spending time with
6 his family and friends; and
 
7     WHEREAS, James Plocher is survived by his wife, Kaye, nee
8 Nagel, Plocher, whom he married on August 24, 1968, at St. Paul
9 Church in Highland; his children, Jennifer K. (Tim) Whitten,
10 Matthew James (Justine) Plocher, and Edwin Joseph Plocher; his
11 grandchildren, Samantha Grace and Lukas James Whitten and
12 Claudia and Matthew James Plocher II; his parents, Edwin A. and
13 Ann W., nee Korte, Plocher; his brothers, Gene (Jane) Plocher,
14 Chuck (Yvonne) Plocher, David (Mary) Plocher, Bob (Mitzi)
15 Plocher, and Mark (Laurie) Plocher; his sisters, Pat (John)
16 Hoffman, Marilyn (Tommie) Newman, and Carol (Mike) Henschen;
17 his mother-in-law, Ruth Nagel; his sisters-in-law, Joyce (Ron)
18 Tebbe and Lynn (Dr. James) Rehberger; and his many uncles,
19 aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
20     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
22 his family and friends, the passing of James Plocher; and be it
23 further
