SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of John Henderson of Springfield, who passed
4 away on March 12, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born July 19, 1939 in Marion, the son of
6 John and Reva Pemberton Henderson; his father died at a young
7 age and his mother married Robert Hope, who became the father
8 figure in his life; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He joined the United States Air Force in 1957,
10 serving as an airman first class; he married Rose Soltys on
11 August 26, 1967; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was retired from the Illinois Department of
13 Revenue, where he worked for 34 years as a computer security
14 administrator; he worked for the Illinois Secretary of State as
15 a computer programmer for 4 years; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council
17 #4175; he coached his son's little league soccer and baseball
18 teams; he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the
19 pride and joy of his life, his granddaughter; he enjoyed
20 woodworking and watching poker on television; and

1     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his
2 stepfather, Robert Hope; and
 
3     WHEREAS, John Henderson is survived by his wife, Rose; his
4 son, Brian K. (Cimone) Henderson; his sister, Carole (John)
5 Davis; his granddaughter, Arianna Henderson; his aunts, his
6 niece; his nephews; his great-nieces; his great-nephews; and
7 his cousins; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of John Henderson; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of John Henderson as a symbol of our
14 sincere sympathy.
