SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Leatrice E. Hall, who passed away on
4 April 10, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Leatrice Hall was born on April 18, 1953, in
6 Chicago; her parents were Fletcher C. and Elizabeth Hall; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Leatrice Hall grew up in the Chicago neighborhood
8 of Bronzeville; she attended Wendell Phillips and Dunbar High
9 Schools and Kennedy King College; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Leatrice Hall had a long and distinguished career
11 in child care; she began as a babysitter for her first niece,
12 Zena, then began her formal career of serving children at the
13 Augustana Children's Home on Chicago's north side; for over 5
14 years, she helped to take care of children with special needs
15 and engaged them in different activities; she subsequently
16 worked at several other home day care providers, then cared for
17 children full-time at her home; she also worked at the W.W.
18 Vincent Insurance Company of America, the American States
19 Insurance Company, and the City of Chicago; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Leatrice Hall accepted Christ at an early age; she
21 formally became a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ

1 in 2002 after fellowshipping with her family at Trinity for
2 over 15 years; she worked in the church's Food Share Ministry
3 for many years; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Leatrice Hall was preceded in death by her sister,
5 Karen; her uncle, Johnny; and her grandmother, Sarah Mae
6 Leslie; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Leatrice Hall is survived by her parents; her son,
8 Steve Aric Hall; her daughter-in-law, Gene' Charlese Hall; her
9 granddaughters, Amaya and Malia; her brothers, Zachary E. Hall
10 (Kendrea) and Fletcher A. Hall; her sisters, Diane Livingston,
11 Sandra Hall, and Yolanda Hall; her nieces, Zena Beach (Kip),
12 Cherise, Cara, Karen, and Erika; her nephews, Fletcher A. Hall
13 III, Tremayne (Tanya), and Kenneth; her great-nieces, Blake
14 Bowie and Nia; her great-nephews, Zachary, Nicholas, Kendell,
15 Keadon, and Isaac; her aunts, Mary Freeman and Mildred
16 Williams; her uncle, Odell Moody; and her many cousins, other
17 relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
18     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
20 her family and friends, the passing of Leatrice E. Hall; and be
21 it further
 
22     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
