SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Patricia R. "Patsy" Hranka, of Peoria,
4 formerly of Pekin and Lewistown, who passed away on April 1,
5 2010; and
 
6     WHEREAS, She was born December 22, 1926, in Peoria, the
7 daughter of Elinor Heffren; she was raised from birth in
8 Lewistown by her grandparents, Fred and Eva Heffren; she
9 married Jerry K. Hranka on November 29, 1947, at Chicago; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's
11 Catholic Church in Lewistown, where she served on the Altar and
12 Rosary Society; she had served as past president of the Knights
13 of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary in Pekin; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She enjoyed traveling with her husband to European
15 countries, and they visited Ireland and Czechoslovakia; they
16 also enjoyed an Alaskan cruise; she was an avid doll collector;
17 her greatest joy was having her family gathered together for
18 family dinners; the love of her family brought her a lifetime
19 of abundant blessings; and
 
20     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her
21 mother; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one

1 stepbrother; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Patricia Hranka is survived by her four sons, Joe
3 (Shelly) Hranka, Tom (Susan) Hranka, John (Karen) Hranka, and
4 Patrick (Pam) Hranka; her six daughters, Therese Peck, Mary
5 (Larry) Haynes, Margaret Nelson, Anna (Kirk) McKinzie, Cecilia
6 (Ray) White, and Kathleen (Joseph) Heskett; her stepbrother,
7 Raymond Beaty Jr. of Mexico; her 30 grandchildren; her five
8 stepgrandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 her family and friends, the passing of Patricia Hranka; and be
13 it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Patricia Hranka as a symbol of our
16 sincere sympathy.
