SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Bill Hamrick Jr. of Augusta, who passed
4 away on February 2, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on February 13, 1927 in Dallas City,
6 to William Lester Sr. and Mercedes (Horner) Hamrick; he was a
7 graduate of Fort Madison, Iowa, high school; he married Barbara
8 De Jaynes on September 5, 1955 in Augusta; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a plumber and steamfitter with Steamfitters
10 Local 353 in Peoria; he was a member of 1st Baptist Church in
11 Colchester and a member of Augusta V.F.W. Post #9029; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He served as a Democratic precinct committeeman
13 for many years and as a Boy Scout leader; he was a veteran of
14 the United States Army, serving in World War II; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his
16 niece, Patricia Gillett; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Bill Hamrick Jr. is survived by his wife, Barbara;
18 his sons, Bill Hamrick III (Deborah) and Craig Hamrick
19 (Brenda); his granddaughters, Rebecca, Emily, and Tiffany
20 Hamrick; his sister, Betty (Conrad) Gillett; his step-brother,

1 Earl (Della) Lofton; his cousin, Erma June Sanderson; his
2 nephew, Keith Gillett; and his beloved granddog, Molly;
3 therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of Bill Hamrick Jr.; and be
7 it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Bill Hamrick Jr. as a symbol of our
10 sincere sympathy.
