SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Chester Thomas Zanck of Woodstock,
4 formerly of Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills, who passed away
5 on January 9, 2010; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born August 26, 1917, in Chicago; he was
7 the second of eight children born to Bernard and Viola Zanck;
8 he married Estelle on October 28, 1939; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a proud member of the United States Marines
10 and served his country in the Pacific theater during World War
11 II; he and his family moved to Lake in the Hills in 1951, where
12 they lived a total of 40 years; he and his wife then moved to
13 Crystal Lake, where they resided until relocating to the
14 Hearthstone community the latter part of their lives; and
 
15     WHEREAS, In addition to his full-time job as a
16 repair/serviceman for Peoples Gas and as an insurance agent, he
17 served on the first village board of Lake in the Hills and took
18 part in many of the events in the early days of the village; he
19 was active in St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin throughout
20 its early days and continued to attend services and functions
21 there until he moved to Woodstock; and

1     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle; his
2 daughter, Barbara; and his brother, George; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Chester Zanck is survived by his son, Tom (Charie)
4 Zanck; his daughter, Judy (Paul) Mercer; his son-in-law, Jim
5 Tegtmeier (Jackie Witt); his 6 grandchildren, Toni, Erin, Joe,
6 Jason, Beth, and Adam; his 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers
7 and their wives; his sisters and their husbands; and his wife's
8 family; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Chester Zanck; and be it
12 further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Chester Zanck as a symbol of our
15 sincere sympathy.
